I just installed vista on my parents HP Pavillion dv1000 but it has no sound. Can someone please help here?

Try THIS (ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp34501-35000/sp34770.exe). If you're running Vista 32-bit it should work.

I tried those before and they said it failed but I turned on the laptop this morning and the sound worked so thanks for helping.

No prob. Just to let you know, though, these ones were specially made for the dv1000 series with Vista by HP.:thumbup1:

Thats odd. Because when I went on their site it only had options for windows 2000 and XP
