Hey everyone. I just installed Ubuntu for doing my programming on and I'm sure much more once I find out how. So I decided to make a thread with all my problems I am having with Ubuntu(quite a lot) So my first question: How do I set up my ISDN connection on it?
I have a Trust Mini ISDN Modem(external). So, help anyone?
EDIT: I've found this (http://trustusbta.sourceforge.net/). I don't know if it will help me or not, but if so, can someone tell me how?

There's a tool called Synaptic in Ubuntu, you might wanna try searching drivers for your ISDN modem in it, it MAY have it pre-compiled :)

sudo shouldnt be thrown about like that so easily...otherwise it defeats the purpose of a linux system.sudo should only be used when making system changes.may as well stick with windows if you'd be using sudo all the time.lol
if you really need help with ubuntu then you should check out the ubuntu forums (http://ubuntuforums.org). thats the forums i use when i hit a problem with unbuntu.
just wondering but is it a router or an actual modem?

do you know the exact model of the ISDN modem?...
type in lsusb into the terminal (Alt+F2 by default) and that should show it if it's being detected by the computer.although that's assuming it's connected by usb?

Yes it's connected by USB and It is "Trust mini USB ISDN modem" It recognizes it as ISDN USB TA or something along those lines.

hmm...odd.
quick google shows people weren't having any luck with the same modem on Fendora Core 3
you could try sysinfo in terminal...or maybe gnome-ppp ...that shoudl bring up a wee utility to detect the modem....
EDIT, just noticed your post in ubuntu forums. :P

Ok I have found a port at the back of my computer but I don't know if my ISDN will work in it. I presume it does as it fits in there :P But I first want to try it on Windows, but I got a problem, that is the one driver I couldn't find, it says ethernet controller under device manager. So can someone(Cheeze;)) please try to find the drivers for it. I have a Dell Dimension E520.

Ok I haven't given up completely on Ubuntu but maybe I'll leave it a while. So... How do I change GRUBs boot order?
