think this should be an interesting topic.

what do you think of connecting to someone else's wireless internet connection?
both with and without permission.
is it alright if you have permission but don't pay or should you pay even if you do have permission?
is it wrong to connect if they don't use any security such as WEP or WPA?

Unsecured: I think it's a give and take thing. Me, personally, I've stolen countless hours of wireless internet from people I haven't asked from unsecured networks, but it's not like I was downloading or anything; I was just, for instance, perusing here or myspace or on messenger, that's about it. I leave my wireless internet open, and anyone that wants to steal it can go ahead, as long as they don't park outside my house and download with my bandwidth for days at a time :p

Secured: Now, I DO feel that breaking someone's WEP or WPA encryption and stealing their internet (something I HAVE done before) is somewhat wrong... I mean, they took what they think should be adequate precautions to protect their internet, more than what 90% of people do, yet it's still stolen. I don't think that's too fair.

Permission: Say, for instance, the college's or McDonald's WiFi? Hell, I'd (and do) steal it in a heartbeat and not feel bad; If they didn't want people to take it then they wouldn't have it open and advertised.

Unless I hacked and broke their WEP/WPA encryption,
I don't call that stealing.

Besides, Microsoft pulled a high speed internet line to our house there's no need to steal anyways XD.

well.. I don't think it's stealing, it's not your fault the owner of said internet is too dumb to protect it xD

I stole loads of internets in the past with my PSP and I find it hillaryous XD

I think connecting to unprotected internet is fine. I was once at a motel and my father asked if there was wireless around and the person at the front desk said no and that most people take it from a nearby house. It kind of made me laugh thinking how much people took from the wireless network and its still not protected.
Also i got a psp ad thing in the mail (still haven't received the GOW demo) and i think it said something about accessing the internet from any wireless hotspot with the psp and that seems like it was made for going on anyones wireless is fine.

Nahh, if he doesn't protect his connection it means that he doesn't care or he is to dumb to do it, so its OK to me.

PS:But I'm not dumb enough to let other people use my connection.
