That would be your best bet , take it down to your local computer shop and let them see what is wrong with it

No, you won't get in trouble for having limewire, and they probably wouldn't report you if they could. What were you doing before it wouldn't turn on?

did it work correctly? It might have been a USB short circuit that fried the mobo >.>

i highly doubt its anything like everyone else is saying...

this has happened to me multiple times. its most likely your power supply that got fucked and not your motherboard. how many watts is your power supply and what are you powering with it?

no you cant get in trouble for having limewire because limewire isnt illegal the things you can download from limewire are however.

but what you need to do is open up your computer and look at the power supply. you should be able to find out how many watts it is somewhere.

if it is your power supply then all youll need to do is buy a new power supply. youll probably wanna get a higher watt one since that one died. im on my third power supply so after my second one i was just like fuck it im goin with a 500 watt. lol

Elaborate when you say it won't turn on.

Do you see it start to boot up then it restarts?
Do you see/hear the fans spinning when you turn it on?

chances are your power supply crapped out on you, i know you said you replaced it.
Did you plug in all the power connections? Should be a big connector on the mother board and you should also need to plug in a 4 pin connector on there as well ( usually near your heat skink)

You only need to test it with 2.

http://www.bjorn3d.com/Material/revimages/psu/Antec%20TP3-650/atx12v.jpg

Plug those into your mobo power then plug it into the wall, press the power button if you see the heat sink spin your all set

ok it is NOT your power supply if it was then it would most likely still start up but after a few minutes just instantly shut off.

try using a duster to clean the dust out it might be causing a bad connection somewhere.

if that doesnt work take it to a professional or if it wasnt that great of a PC to begin with just start building your own and use your old HD and try to sell all the other working parts on your comp.

I've never heard of anyone getting in trouble for having this on their computer. If in doubt, just take out the hard drive but really i don't see any benefit a computer repair place would make if they were to report customers for having illegal content...unless it was something very serious like child pornography or something...

Guy that worked for one of my clients had apparently been a PC repair guy and for some reason he took his PC into a repair shop and they had found kiddy porn on his pc and when he went to go pick up his pc the FBI was there. Hes been in jail ever since.

thats what i mean, only if it was something serious. as for stuff like films or music or programs like photoshop, they can't prove they're not backups.

Dude, seriously, unless you have something like hacked FBI databases, terrorism-intended viruses or child pornography on your computer don't worry about it. >.> 3/4 of the time if they look through your stuff they copy the things they want for themselves.
