Hi all I've decided to invest some money in building a new computer namely $1900AUD which is approximately $1800USD So what do you guys think which parts I should get.
E.g. How much R.A.M,Which Graphics cards, Motherboard, Sound Card, Processor, Case etc.
Hope to hear what you think is good for this price and your experience with the parts and whether it worth buying stuff geared towards over clocking.

well
For graphics...
Either Nvidia or ATI, now if you want to use linux use nvidia
Motherboard.. I'd go with ASRock or MSI
Sound Card... Realtek, Creative
Processor...Only 2 choices... Though ATI + AMD = Good | Nvidia + Intel = good :) (IMHO)

that's all I can help you with =)

Oh wait! Cooling!

Go with ThermalTake or Coolermaster

When i build a pc i never factor in the monitor, speakers, case into the price because i figure when i build a new PC in 2 or 3 years i will just reuse monitor, speakers, & case. So make sure you get a real nice monitor and a real nice case. Getting a nice case also saves a lot of headaches in the future as well.

Do you guys reckon it worth buying a monitor with all the fancy ports e.g component hdmi and standard VGA??

DVI is faster than VGA (the information gets there faster), I think the same thing happens with HDMI (not sure though)

and yeah, those monitors with component and stuff are cool because you could connect your PSP to them =)

Oh Yeah I just realized how noob I actually am (haven't bought a computer in ages) was looking at the Dolphin Emulator and it requires at 64bit system what exactly is that??? Something to do with the type of graphics cards?

Took a quick glance at both of them and it looks like they are basically the same. Only thing i noticed is that the first one supports more types of ram but you can only have 4gb of ddr3 and with the 2nd one you can have up to 8gb of ddr3.

I didn't have enough time to read over everything though
