How does the nVidia SLI work does it need the exact same card like an 8800GTS with an 8800GTS or could you have a 9800GTX with that? Could it also have two 8800GTS but one a XFX GeForce 8800 GTS Extreme Video Card and the other a EVGA GeForce 8800 GTS KO Video Card??? Or do they have to be EXACTLY the same?

Should just be the same specs. Not 100% sure though. The way GFX cards are advancing now SLI isn't even worth it. You will just spend twice as much on something thats just going to get outdated in a year or so. Thats why i buy midrange gfx cards.

It has to be the same card but can be from different manufacturers.
IMO if you are thinking of going SLI just wait for the new GTX cards. They are supposed to be officially unveiled very soon.

I heard the new 9800GTX were supposed to be really bad they were based on the previous generations components or do you mean a new line altogether. Might aswell go for mid-range for a year or two and wait for the next best thing.

Nah, new line of cards. GTX260 and GTX280. Both will be high-end though so they probably will be pricey.

Reviews are out now...

Pretty good, but still won't max Crysis at 60 FPS. I guess we'll be waiting at least another year or two before cards are released that can fully max it at 1080p.
EDIT: That is, unless you get three of these cards :p

according to DailyTech http://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=12097
GTX 280 $649
GTX 260 $399
Much to rich for my blood.
With 8800GTS as cheap as it is now seems to be the one to get at this time.
Plus if your mobo permits you could SLI them.
