Hello guys my PSP is Fully Bricked (I think) and I need help to unbrick it.
So first thing to tell.
I have Custom Firmware on that PSP Version GEN D2.
So this is what happend.
I was playing on my PSP the game Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 after I turned of the PSP (not fully) I noticed the PSP froze when I turned it on again while ingame so I took out the Battery and put it in again and I the PSP started normally so I played PES 10 again and when I choose the Competition Mode it froze again so i took out the Battery again and put it in again and the PSP started normally.
This problem happend a few times and after 4 times taking out the Battery the PSP did not started normally when I put the Battery in.
In fact just the Green light is on and no screen no sound just nothing.

I think my PSP is fully bricked.
But I ofcourse I want to unbrick it.
The problem is I don't have a Pandora Battery and I live in The Netherlands and people sell it but it's too far away from me to get the Pandora Battery.
But I heard it's possible to unbrick a PSP without Pandora Battery all you need is another PSP with Custom Firmware. (It was Softmodding or something like that right?)
Is this true? If yes please send me a good tutorial to do it because I have a friend with Custom Firmware PSP.

Thanks Extreme,

Boycotts be damned, the PC version of Modern Warfare 2 seems to be performing exceptional at retail, having outsold its predecessor in terms of first week sales. This is according to Infinity Ward community manager Robert "402" Bowling, who wrote the following in a forum post on the developer's official site:

Yes, PC is the smallest percentage in terms of how much sold on each platform but that hardly means anything other than the PC is just the smallest market.

The PC version of Modern Warfare 2 has actually outsold the PC version of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare in it's first week. Making it the most successful PC version.

Essentially, all this percentage proves is that the console versions sold great, not that the PC version sold poorly, because that's actually not the case. The PC version has done tremendous in it's first week, better than our previous game.

Interesting. Infinity Ward received a lot of flack for not including dedicated servers and instead requiring players to use their custom matchmaking service IWnet. In the end, though, it seems the decision has done little to stunt sales. This is despite petitions in which hundreds of thousands of people claimed they were boycotting the game. It's worrying news for those that despise a peer-to-peer routed approach for hosting online games. IW being successful means other developers may follow in their footsteps.

I can't copy files over to my psp....yep

I haven't upgraded my FW in ages and my last update was 3.90 m33 so now I'm trying to update and I can't copy the files over to my psp.

On my pc with vista it looks like its transferring over but then it just gets stuck there and I end up with corrupted data.

On my pc with xp it says that it fails and need to close...and I get more corupt data.

I have tried this on two different psps with two different pcs...help:confused1:

I read that my file paths may be mislabled but I don't remember messing with them on either psp and they look fine to me.

Am I just doing something really stupid? I have never had this problem before -.-

Thanks for any help guys!

Edit: I forgot to mention that it is the 500.PBP file that refuses to copy over, sometimes when it doesn't crash on me I get a file can not be located error...then Crash boom bang

Edit again: ok nm that last remark random other things won't transfer over either I keep getting an error message saying that the file cannot be found.

I have already tried formatting my card to no avail -.-

Crysis developer Crytek is reaching out to the academic world in a big way, allowing the programmers and graphic designers of tomorrow to get an early head start on creating games powered by its latest cross-platform middleware -- CryENGINE 3. As of today, the development solution is now available free of charge to any qualified educational institution, providing the tools necessary to create scalable experiences across all major platforms, namely PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.

Crytek director of Global Business Development Carl Jones shares his thoughts on the initiative:

Crytek has always been a strong supporter of education – as evidenced by our commitment for many years to share CryENGINE tools with universities. We are continuing that commitment now by releasing the brand new CryENGINE 3 tools to any university in the world, for free! Here at Crytek, we work hard to enable all our licensees to achieve their vision with CryENGINE 3, so we aren’t considering this Educational SDK as a product we “fire and forget” - we will be looking for strong educational partners to work together with Crytek in the future - and we will soon be announcing exciting programmes for students working with CryENGINE 3.

Sounds like a win-win for Crytek. Coupled with the promise of delivering enough grunt for the next-generation, this should greatly aid engine adoption efforts in the long term, making CryENGINE 3 a formidable competitor to similar solutions such as Epic's widely-used Unreal Engine.

Sony isn't one to sit idle in midst of Microsoft's social networking efforts, as the company has went ahead and announced that firmware 3.1 for PS3 will include Facebook integration. By linking up a PSN profile to a Facebook account, PS3 owners will able to automatically update their news feed with Trophy and PlayStation Store activity. You'll never miss a beat. The initiative will also give developers the ability to publish game information to news feeds through Facebook's API.

While Facebook integration is the main highlight of this update, Sony is squeezing in other noteworthy changes as well, including a revamped photo browser and the ability to change the font color of your PSN ID. Check out a video walkthrough of the soon to be released firmware above, courtesy of PSN director Eric Lempel.

The first Wii Music wasn't quite the runaway success Nintendo expected it to be, but that doesn't mean they've bailed out of the genre entirely. Speaking in a recent interview with Official Nintendo Magazine UK, producer Shigeru Miyamoto has hinted that a follow-up is not out of the question.

"[Wii Music] was a really unique game, and even today, we are receiving several different offers from people in the field of music education... I think it still has great potential.

Unique, yes, but lacking in fun factor. The concepts within Wii Music definitely have potential but were hampered by poor execution. A complete revamp is in order if Nintendo has any hope of selling a sequel. Tacking "Plus" onto the title isn't going to work in this case.

C.O.P. The Recruit Review: Open World Action Comes To DS In Full 3D

In many respects, Ubisoft's C.O.P: The Recruit is a landmark title for the Nintendo DS. Delivering a fully realized open-world environment in 3D, developer VD Dev has crafted a one-of-a-kind experience that no other DS effort to date has managed. From a technical perspective, to pull off this level of visual acuity on a handheld that admittedly is not renowned for its 3D rendering capabilities is an impressive feat. Does C.O.P. set a new standard for the open-world genre on DS? Read on and find out.

Without question, the visuals in C.O.P. are spectacular considering the limitations of DS hardware, but a question no doubt looming on many minds is if the gameplay stacks up. While it's fair to draw parallels between Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto franchise and C.O.P. at first glance, the reality is that the two are quite different, at least in terms of pacing. Despite boasting a open-world environment, C.O.P. takes a linear approach, essentially forcing players to follow the main story line. While side missions are still present, they offer no real connection to the main story, appearing on the player's CCD PDA device at random intervals. Opting to take on these predefined missions can net you more weapons and ammo upon successful completion, as well as achievements for bragging rights. This approach works well as the portable format is better suited towards pick up and play sessions. Having one clear path to the story keeps things moving at a steady pace.

As we've seen on the visual front, C.O.P. takes advantage of the DS hardware to its fullest. In certain respects, the same can also be said of controls. Using the stylus, players can aim freely with their weapon of choice while using the control pad to move around, making movement fluid and responsive. By default, the action of firing your weapon is tied to the left trigger, but this behavior can be changed via options to tapping the stylus twice in rapid succession. Although opinions are bound to differ, we actually preferred the stylus method of firing shots. Additionally, certain missions in C.O.P. employ use of the DS' built-in microphone in a rather effective way, having players shout "Hey" to divert attention from surrounding guards and remain undetected.

While solid, the combat system in C.O.P. offers no real surprises. Firearm switching is seamless as players can simply choose their weapon of choice with the touch of the stylus. One nuance we encountered was that the hit detection system felt a bit touchy. There's no real indication that an enemy is being hit when firing, making combat less satisfying than we would have liked. While it was obvious that Ubisoft did not want to include blood to keep this a teen-friendly game, adding a secondary life bar for the opposition would have been helpful.

Missions in C.O.P. are varied. While a bulk of the game involves running errands for local law enforcement across the city, as well as your falsely accused mentor Brad Winter in an effort to prove his innocence and uncover a terrorist plot, it's the way these scenarios play out that mix up the gameplay and keep things fresh. There's never a dull moment in C.O.P.

Pushing the DS hardware to its limits does have disadvantages, however. C.O.P. suffers from a slight degree of pop-in on screen, a visual artifact that often plagues this genre, making textures appear right before your eyes. In the case of C.O.P., this phenomenon is very minor, however, mostly limited to cars far out in the distance. Could it have been eliminated? Most likely, but at the cost of no longer maintaining a smooth 60 frames per second. There's always a trade-off.

Regardless of minor faults, C.O.P. is a compelling action experience for DS. Impressive 3D visuals backed by a silky smooth rate make for a quality production. Although the gameplay could have used sprucing up in certain areas, VD Dev has created a technological achievement that is not only fun but rewarding to play. Any DS owner in the market for an enjoyable action title should give C.O.P. consideration. It's a fun action romp that doesn't let go until the end.

Liked
- Breaks new ground in terms of visuals for DS
- Use of secondary DS hardware features in non-gimmicky ways
- Story is engaging, keeps the player wanting to push forward

Disliked
- Not as ambitious on the gameplay front. Combat system is solid but feels somewhat antiquated

Review copy provided by Ubisoft. A Nintendo DS exclusive, C.O.P. The Recruit retails for $29.99 and was released on November 3.

October NPD results are in. Nintendo had a strong showing, shifting 506,900 Wii units, no doubt thanks to the $50 price cut that went into effect late last September. Despite an overall slump in sales elsewhere across the spectrum, PS3 sales remained relatively brisk, edging past the Xbox 360 by around 70,000 in total unit sales.

All in all, it was a $1.07 billion month for the video game industry, a 13 percent drop from last year. Much of that decline can be attributed to the hardware sector. Expect things to perk up next month, though, evident by the blockbuster sales of Modern Warfare 2. Front-runner titles like Assassin’s Creed 2 and Left 4 Dead 2 will likely follow in its footsteps. See the full breakdown of hardware and software sales past the jump.

The launch of Modern Warfare 2 has catapulted Xbox Live activity, setting a new record for the number of concurrent users logged in. According to a Twitter tweet from Xbox community manager Major Nelson, over two million users were active on the service at once this week.

While the exact impact MW2 had on that figure is unknown, it’s safe to say it had a substantial effect. We’re just glad the servers didn’t end up buckling under all this load. It’s clear that the investments Microsoft has put into Live have paid off.
