Rumor: Screenshot Capture To Be Added In PS3 Firmware 2.5

According to a CVG report citing a "development source," PS3 firmware 2.5 will include an option for screen capturing, allowing users to take a direct-feed shot of what's currently running on their PS3 - either in-game or from within the XMB.

Seeing as development firmware for both PSP and PS3 has had a built-in screenshot function for some time, file this one under probable, but aside from this rumor - there's been no other indication that it will show up in firmware 2.5. We'll see.

<p>i think the screen shot thing is useless... unless the screen shot thing will be with the PSP-3000's too... Still other then that 2.5 sounds like a mediocre update. Then again sony will still force this update otherwise we wont get on the "PS Network".</p>
<p>What Sony should do it fix the PS2 emulation on the PS3 and make it for ALL PS3's so far M$360 keeps updating their backwards compatibility list slowly but surely, Sony on the other hand Gave the heck up. Then again sony doesn't care. No Exclusives, no care, no nothing Sony's new motto.</p>

<p>I desperately wanted screen capture without directing my PS3 through my comp, then running hypercam.</p>
<p>I'd be extremely satisfied if Sony comes out with this, i'd even pay for it ;P</p>
