Speaking in a recent interview, SCEA marketing man John Koller revealed that one of Sony's main prerogatives or "big pushes" this year will be towards downloadable content on PSP. Sony introduced a built-in PlayStation Store on the PSP late last year, but as users of the service will attest to, things have been rather barren on the digital content front, especially in regards to the selection of PSOne classics. Although an increase in content throughput has been promised for a long time now, it looks like such an initiative will finally take center stage later this year.[blockquote2]One of our big pushes this year is to be sure that the right kind of content and the right kind of games in particular are placed on the PlayStation Network for download on the PSP.[/blockquote2]Koller further mentioned to expect an expansion of content selection "in the back half of this year." So that's reassuring, in that we now have a timetable. Hopefully this push starts happening sooner rather than later. People are growing impatient, you know.
