I just got a psp (to my dismay, with a TA-088V3). It's OFW was 4.05 and being an idiot I upgraded to 5.03. I'm just woundering how far we've gotten with this new exploit. I understand we can run homebrew, now does that mean we can run ISOs (meaning "homebrews" like god of war)?
We can't run homebrew yet via this exploit. At this point, it's only a proof of concept. You'll have to wait a bit before a HEN version for it comes out, and longer after that for an ISO loader.

Just a note, there isn't anything called a legal UMD backup, but that's another topic![]()
Oh well, Kudos MaTiaZ. I'll go get a game then and hopefully an ISO loader will come before early 2010.
Good luck to everyone trying to break the PSP security.
PS. I've read up on the new MOBO and it's security, since it checks all of the hardware and memory sticks BEFORE the bootup, why not put in a card with hacks and alterations AFTER it. I know this is a shot in the dark but I'm just trying to throw ideas out there. It could use something like a TIFF exploit but slightly more complicated, perhaps a form of CFW that leaves after the PSP shuts down.
Same issue. You'll need full access before that happens.
