PC TF2 Polycount Pack Lands, The Mann-Conomy Update

I like all of the upgrades except the new Spy revolver. That's a lot of cloak to restore for something as easy as hitting an enemy with the revolver. The less damage thing isn't much of a drawback.

Just had a few games, the new weapons seem to work quite well. Nothing is strikingly OP, and apart from the increased meta-game, it seems to be a smooth transition.

One thing Valve needs to fix is the Item Pack Bonuses. Say you all the new Soldier weapons, you will get a 20% reduction in sentry damage. Problem is, you need the hat as well.

HOLY SHIT the stuff in the store is expensive. Some of the hats are damn near $20. And most of the new weapons are $4.99...

Insane.

Hats are $20? Who the hell would pay for that when TF2 itself costs that much >_>

Wow. That's honestly ridiculous.. certainly puts them out of reach for impulse buys. All the items should be $5 or less IMO.

Yeah, the prices are quite ridiculous. The Polycount bundle comes in at $60 US. That's more than the Orange Box.

Valve, they're called microtransactions. Like how episodic means small, cheap but frequent.

Nametags look like they're going to be exploited. There isn't a censor, so beware of some colourfull names when playing with less mature players.

At first I was pretty disappointed by this apparent sell out behaviour but after a little think it is pretty obvious why they are doing it...

If trading was implemented without the option to buy things then people would head straight to ebay and start buying/selling things anyway, keeping valve completely out of the loop. As I believe happens in every online RPG ever.

Selling things officially is a way to put a price cap on things and stop trading sending everything all black market.

Besides, you can still craft all these items by using the usual 2 item community items method anyway. (http://www.teamfortress.com/mannconomy/FAQ/)

Yes, some people will just buy everything, but would you rather they did it via ebay or Valve?

I agree that the prices are pretty mental though.

The fact that you can still get this from drops completely makes it a non-issue, because I wouldn't buy any of this stuff if it was $.99, I was just surprised.

What people don't realize you're paying for a set also.
This includes the hat,weapons etc.

That gives you the bonus also.
Overall its a good deal if you don't have alot time to play.

I honestly can't justify spending the price of the game (more even with the current sale) for a couple of items in said game.

Crafting doesn't take that long anyways. Maybe a week for everything but the hats if you max our your drops.
