Omega Boost on PopStation 3.40OE-A - FMV skipping?

Omega Boost is listed in our compatibility list as working and I must say that the game itself plays fine on my PSP but the FMVs skip terribly!
My discs are in great condition and nothing unusual seemed to happen during ripping or conversion.
The FMVs in OB have very minor lag when played on my PS2 but most FMVs seem to run a little slow here and there on my PS2, but OB on my PSP is ridiculous!
I'm really just looking to see if anyone else has had this issue or if it's just me... as I said the game plays perfectly so it's not really important, just annoying.

played through it on v3.10OE and it ran perfect for me... :\

maybe something in v3.40OE or something?

Well, there could be a number of reasons. One very likely suspect is fragmentation - depending on how "clean" the stick is, your ISO may be split into many smaller fragments scattered over the stick. This usually won't affect gameplay, but will have a serious affect on streamed video. You might try formatting the stick and then writing the ISO. That should make it all one chunk.

Another issue might be speed - a UMD transfers data at 11mbps (about 1MB/sec). If your stick isn't at least that fast, you may have problems with streamed video that counts on a minimum rate of transfer. The only way to cure that is a faster stick.

The specifications:

It's on a 4GB SanDisk Ultra II (purchased new from a brick-and-mortar retailer) so I would hope the speed is about as good as it gets. I could also try it on my genuine 2GB Sony "High Speed" memory stick for a second opinion.
With the game on there I still have about 1400MBs free so it may be fragmentation.
None of the other PSone games that I've brought to my PSP have had even slight lag with FMVs which is why this annoyance jumped out at me...
MenaceInc, if you still have your Omega Boost EBOOT laying around and are no longer on 3.10OE-A' would you mind loading it up and double checking it for me? If you don't that's fine too. The first FMV before you even begin the game skips badly for me.

yea,sure i'll do it now.

just tried it and got it to work

YouTube video of Omega Boost FMV working

theres a video....took it with my phone. :P

btw, changed the settings in POPS to full-screen and high cd speed. the EBOOT was made with PSX2PSP and was from a rip of a mates NTSC-A disc.the disc was in near perfect condition.size of 358,927,105 bytes according to windows XP

Same settings all around...

In PopS I always use Fast Disc-Load Speed and Normal Screen Mode, I tried it on Full Screen but it didn't make a difference...
Hmmm... guess I'll try loading it up on an empty memory stick to see what happens.
Maybe my IsoBuster is picking up on one of the few little hairline scratches that are on the disc and blowing it out of proportion.
Anyway, thanks for the help you two.
