Should I try

Well I was thinking I don't know if any of you have heard about this or not the guy who translated parts of monster hunter. I was thinking I might try taking the contents out of my monster hunter 2 and start translating it. I'd probably just use an online translator but I don't know if anyone would bother using if I did. I was also thinking of doing it for the new tales game.

So you're going to use a sweet Babelfish translation or an equivilant? NO DICE, man, those things will mangle your OWN language, translating it to itself. They're terrible.

Question the question.

Furthermore is the Japanese language stored as Unicode in PSP games or some other character encoding? It may be difficult to even feed into an online translator...
All in all I'd have to call it a waste of time because a game uses so many of it's own names and terms it would almost certainly be completely incomprehensible.

Precisely, I mean, people are paid 10's or 100's of dollars an hour to translate Japanese to English, just so it is comprehensible, and after that it needs to be reformatted and edited to make sense to the average person. Honestly, go for it, and if you have some good results it'd definately be awesome, but the chances are slim-to-none. Sorry man, just how it is.
