Yesterday, it was confirmed by Famitsu magazine that Namco was planning to release an online-enabled version of the PS3's Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection in Japan. Now, Namco has confirmed that Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection Online will also be heading to North American shores.
As originally revealed by Famitsu, the game will feature free online multiplayer, online leaderboards, and two all-new game modes, practice mode and survival mode. That's not all though, now GamePro has revealed that the game will feature four modes of online play: Opti Match, Quick Match, Custom Match and Friend Match. Voice chat will also be supported in each online mode!
In addition to the multitude of features, players waiting in the lobby before joining a match can watch live, ongoing battles, which sounds really neat.
Update: Namco has confirmed pricing in an official press release. $10 if you already own the original Tekken 5: DR, or $20 if you did not own the original game. Seems like a fair deal to me.
