Help! FW 2.80 noob needs help

Hey guys

I bought my PSP off my cousin, and he'd sorted the firmware so that it was 2.80. My question is (being very VERY new to this scene) - how do I make it homebrew-able...? I'm a serious PSP NOOB here, so please be gentle.
 
Thanks - will try that out this evening. He got his PSP from the states when the PSP first came out, it's not a TA082 one, so do I need the ta82downgrader.zip files...?

yes, but you do not need to run the TA-082 IDstorage changer.
