Capcom today announced that Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G, the sequel to last year's hit PSP title Monster Hunter Portable 2, has shipped 1 million copies throughout Japan. The feat was achieved in six days following the game's release on March 27.

Surprised? You shouldn't be, given the immense popularity of the franchise in Japan. If the sales of previous entries in the series are any indication, expect this one to stay on top of the Japanese sales charts for weeks to come.

Capcom has yet to announced a US release for Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G.

I guess :P I don't know why the Japanese go ape over this game, to be honest. Might be more interesting if Capcom would have included an online mode.
