ps3 gta iv online servers different regions

Hi,
I live in Europe and have an US NTSC ps3.
A friend is bringing me a US GTA IV version.

I would like to ask: Is it possible to select the servers
to connect to? Or are they hardcoded in the game.
I would like to connect to the european servers.
