Snes9xTYL ME stopping at speed hack?

Ok, this isn't my problem, but a guy I know is having the problem.

He has a slim PSP, and he modified it to 3.80 M33 firmware.

He downloaded the most recent Snes9xTYL ME emulator and plugged it in, and it worked fine.
It runs and everything like that.
But when he goes to play a game, it stops at the "applying speedhack" portion.

Anyone know why this might be happening?

He really isn't technology-savvy, so it's kind of hard trying to help him.

Try opening up the snesadvance.dat and delete the line that corresponds to this game in there. You can also rename or delete the file, but that will disable speed hacks for all games.

Now he's saying it's freezing at the "Settings Found! Default" screen.

Probably a bad/corrupt ROM then.

you could also delete the config file as well as everything in profile folder
and delete all files in save folder that have .srm extension.
