Yeah, a lot of people caught wind of this last night and started taking points like nothing. All that was required to get these codes was to edit a 4-digit number and a 2-digit number in a url, so the process was relatively easy. Some people just can't play fair..

from how i understood the process, the point cards were sent to people who went to a specified url, but by modifying the url slightly, it would send you another one, rinse, and repeat, and 1.2 million worth of Microsoft points are stolen

Microsoft already caught it and are now going to start banning accounts as the codes that were made are able to be tracked. A smart person would have used the points on a secondary account.

At the enforcement panel last night at PAX they said they will not be straight banning those who use the codes. Those that abused them however will be banned.
