Hello there! I would like to make an appeal for my Steam account to be reinstated in the Steam global ladder boards.
From what I can remember my Steam account was marked as "Not Ranked" since the beginning as I was marked on other sites as well. I used Steam Hunters to determine why this happened, relocked the bad achievements, resynced my achievements for those games and I now seem to be back on their ladderboards automatically. I did the same thing on exophase but nothing happened automatically, so this is why I'm making this appeal
The issue on my account was probably one or two things:
- the main issue was an achievement from "Dungeons of Dredmor" that was not obtainable through normal means. Almost 13 years ago, I tried a Steam Workshop item that said it would unlock it. Found it stupid at the time that a mod would trigger actual unobtainable achievement, by actually adding the core functionality in the game. Sadly, that one stuck a long time on my account and I was marked as a cheater on a lot of achievements sites. There were actually two achievements tied to this game, but the developer removed a broken one and added another unobtainable one instead.
- the second one is not listed on all of the 3rd party achievement sites that I verified so I don't know if is tracked by exophase., It's related to a game called "Puzzle Chronicles". For this one I checked the game's code to understand if the achievement was possible through normal means. Because I'm a programmer, my instincts were to try and fix the code and that triggered the achievement in-game. I also wrote a guide a while back signaling that that achievement was broken, but could be easily fixed by the developers.
I wasn't aware until recently that Steam added an official way to relock achievements. I used the official tool to relock these troublesome achievements as I know I've obtained them through other than normal means.
These are the only two cases that I know that I had issues with. Please let me know if there is anything else that I must do! Thank you!
