Dark_AleX and Mathieulh have released a new downgrader for 2.71 firmware PSP units. Running it will allow you to revert back to the homebrew-enabled 1.5 firmware.
On a personal note I have to say that this is another great day in the PSP scene.. greetings to NOPx86 who created the first POC of the tif exploit on PC, Fanjita and Skylark who ported the exploit to PSP, and the #psp @ irc.lan.st staff.
