3DS 3DS Titles Delayed Into 2012 On Purpose

Alright here's one that strikes the funny bone. In the wake of last week's announcement that the fiscal year ending in March 2012 will see the company post it's first annual loss since 1981 Mr. Iwata has gone on to clarify, among other things, some of the company's strategies in dealing with the 3DS this holiday season during a Q&A session.

Here is the interesting tidbit:


For us to provide software titles one after another, one idea is, "Isn't it possible for Nintendo to stock some of its software titles instead of launching them as soon as the development is completed?" Video games need to stay fresh, so it is not practical for us to put them on hold for too long, but we think that some of them may be held for a certain amount of time so that there will be a short interval between when they are completed and when they are launched[...]

That is probably the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Gamers are screaming for worth while 3DS titles and Nintendo is suffering losses, seeing slow 3DS sales and ... they decide to "Hold back" titles?
What kind of koolaid are they being fed?
