When I try to run a game, it just get stuck at the gameboot screen. What is wrong? I remembered that people say any capacity bigger than 4 GB will not work with 1.5 firmware.

- 8 GB and greater memory sticks are enabled everywhere.

4GB and higher MemorySticks do not need mspformat. In fact the MS-IPL space in 2 GB and higher is big enough by default and needs only a regular format in XMB, and then an IPL Loader / TimeMachine IPL install via a homebrew aplication.
alex_e said:so nothing bigger then a 2GB need mspformat, COOL!![]()
Well, I found out this out when I installed the TM-IPL and msipl.bin and forgot to do the format and repartition.
But, all Memorysticks higher than 2GB need a format only in the XMB before becoming MagicSticks.
alex_e said:How comes they need to be formatted in the xmb anyway?
all the files are going to the same place...?
alex_e said:yh but why must it be formatted?
can you just copy and paste it in
i've done it before when i backed up my memory stick, it worked fine...

alex_e said:okay.....
so the firmwares will lag if the stick is formatted.
thnks for enlightening, you seem to be doing it alot
lol
They will not lag if it is an XMB format. The firmwares will only lag if you you used the old way: mspformat. I used the mspformat on my 2GB (s0nY Magicgate) MemoryStick, and it really lagged when I clicked on the game menu icon in the XMB. Also in TimeMachine, 3.40 OE IPL boots up slower; DC6 and DC7 "Test M33" mode lags. What my main point is that mspformat (format and repartition) is not needed for 2GB MemorySticks and higher.
Ok, this is to dennis96411: You probably have a serious bug, as TimeMachine 1.50 is supposed to work with 8GB MemorySticks everywhere. I'm afraid nothing can be done about this.
