When I try to run a game, it just get stuck at the gameboot screen. What is wrong? I remembered that people say any capacity bigger than 4 GB will not work with 1.5 firmware.

8GB sticks are not supported under the 1.5 kernel, so it won't work under 1.5 + 3.4, which is a mix of modules from both firmwares.

I checked the readme.txt for TimeMachine and found this:

- 8 GB and greater memory sticks are enabled everywhere.

So I came to the only logical conclusion it is one wierd bug that dennis96411 is having. :confused1:

dennis96411, did you try a smaller stick?

plus ive heard of people who have had problems converting their 8gb< sticks into a proper MMS...
so maybe that might be the problem?

My understanding is that 8gb are not suitable for Magic purposes and should always be smaller <4gb.

I don't know then. Not sure if 8GB support with TimeMachine was ever tested, so it could very well be a bug. If the stick works under M33 firmware, then it likely is.

Try to use mspformat to partition your memory stick maybe?

4GB and higher MemorySticks do not need mspformat. In fact the MS-IPL space in 2 GB and higher is big enough by default and needs only a regular format in XMB, and then an IPL Loader / TimeMachine IPL install via a homebrew aplication.

So um... How do I fix this?

so nothing bigger then a 2GB need mspformat, COOL! :D
only if i knew that a few years ago when i first made the pandoras battery(the one which dg's to 1.50)

how about trying to re-install time-machine

i've never tried to use time machine, dont really see the use of it

might use it one day but i dont jump to firmwares alot.

Well, I found out this out when I installed the TM-IPL and msipl.bin and forgot to do the format and repartition.

But, all Memorysticks higher than 2GB need a format only in the XMB before becoming MagicSticks.

dennis96411, I'll help you; but I am not held responsible for what happens to your MemoryStick.

First, backup your MemoryStick data on the computer (that's a given).

Then in your NAND / flash firmware, you format the MemoryStick.

Then download and run the TimeMachine installer; then install iplloader. iplloader must be installed first or the TimeMachine firmwares might lag a little.

Afterwards, install the firmwares to MemoryStick first before putting any other homebrew on or the firmwares may lag too.

Then put, all your regular stuff back on the MemoryStick. :D

Also, check the the readmes supplied with TimeMachine, they might have answers to your questions.

How comes they need to be formatted in the xmb anyway?
all the files are going to the same place...?

Um... It's already a Magic Memory Stick. I formatted it on the PSP, then the PC (to become a FAT32 cause it gives your more space). If I didn't format it on a PC, the Pandora IPL won't install for some reason.

If you "Format and Repartition" (mspformat) a 2GB MemoryStick, in Hellcat's Pandora Installer for 3.xx+ kernels, the MemoryStick will be corrupted.

A standard format is all that is necessary for TimeMachine installation and Desperar del Cementerio versions higher than v6.

The TimeMachine IPL is so small that it does not require mspformat to have itself installed.

yh but why must it be formatted?
can you just copy and paste it in
i've done it before when i backed up my memory stick, it worked fine...

Well, if you are using Despertar del Cementerio, then you do not need to format the MemoryStick; but if you want to use TimeMachine firmware, you do need to format, or the TimeMachine firmwares might lag. Dark_Alex himself said that TimeMachine works alot faster on a freshly formatted MemoryStick.

What do you mean by Pandora IPL? msipl.bin or the TimeMachine iplloader?

okay.....
so the firmwares will lag if the stick is formatted.
:D
thnks for enlightening, you seem to be doing it alot
lol

TimeMachine IPL loader.

They will not lag if it is an XMB format. The firmwares will only lag if you you used the old way: mspformat. I used the mspformat on my 2GB (s0nY Magicgate) MemoryStick, and it really lagged when I clicked on the game menu icon in the XMB. Also in TimeMachine, 3.40 OE IPL boots up slower; DC6 and DC7 "Test M33" mode lags. What my main point is that mspformat (format and repartition) is not needed for 2GB MemorySticks and higher.

Ok, this is to dennis96411: You probably have a serious bug, as TimeMachine 1.50 is supposed to work with 8GB MemorySticks everywhere. I'm afraid nothing can be done about this.
