Black Screen with Power Plugged in after downgrade and during upgrade?

Ok when I first downgraded my nephew's 2.71 TA-082 PSP I had a weird bug where the screen would go black with the power cord plugged in but the xmb was still running and when I unplugged the cord the screen came back on. No problem there I simply restored to default settings rebooted a couple times to be safe and my nephew's was then upgraded to and using 3.03 OE-C since. Today I decided to update all our PSP's to 3.10 OE-A' which worked flawlessly on my two non TA-082 PSP's but gave me the black screens again on the nephew's PSP. However their PSP worked fine and I simply repeated the process (without seeing the screen) and updated them from 3.03 OE-C to 3.10 OE-A'. The black screen's only occurred during the running of the update maker, custom firmware installer and the A' update not during normal xmb operation. However as I said it all worked fine still and their PSP is at 3.10 OE-A' now. I just wonder if you know what is causing this bug? Also I will be downgrading and upgrading a 2.71 TA-082 for a friend that recent purchased it soon. Will the OE Maker, OE Installer and OE A' update work without the power plugged in with a full battery? Or am I going to be stuck doing it from memory again?

Thanks for all the hard work and pleasure you've giving me, my family and all my friends with our PSP's,

hello jwilds73.

I havn't heard of this bug before in a TA-082 PSP before...

To get it straight, the bug only happens in certian downgrading and upgrading applications right???

If so, i think that you will just have to work around it.

All PSP's are different so you may get the same problem with your friends PSP or you may not.

Tell us how you go.

Cheers.

Yes it has only occured during the first downgrade to 1.50 from 2.71 the power was plugged in and instead of going to max brightness the psp's screen simply went black with the power cord plugged in. Upon removing the power cord the psp's screen returned to normal brightness. I knew the psp was working because I could hear the xmb functioning and as I said once the power cord was removed the screen returned to normal brightness.

It occured again during the updating process from 3.03 OE-C to 3.10 OE-A'. However the psp functioned normally and I was able to complete the upgrade without problem. And same as before after updating first to 3.10 OE-A then A' I "restored to default settings" and rebooted a couple times to be sure all was fine before continuing with the next update. Also nothing other then custom firmware has been installed on any of the psp's. So no modules or such at all have been used.

So things went as such

1. Installed oeupdate maker with required files.

2. Ran oeupdate maker.

3. Screen goes black but program is running underneath.

4. Oeupdate maker exits and returns to xmb and screen comes back on.

5. Installed OE firmware installer and move data.psar to firmware installer's folder

6. Run Firmware installer screen goes black again I press "x" and program runs underneath

7. Screen becomes visible only after update is complete and I reboot psp manually.

8. I "restore to default settings" and reboot a couple times all is good.

9. I update again to OE-A' screen goes black during process and returns to normal functioning after process is complete.

The screen functions fine now with the PSP plugged in like I said it only happened after downgrading to 1.50 and during the updating process to 3.10 OE from 3.03 OE

Thanks again

as far as i know its a known bug . and the easy solution is to hit the brightness key. personally i would never remove the plug during an update. this happened to me too.
i hit the brighness when i was panic strikin thinking ohhh shit green powr light black screen owww fawk . But fortunatly as soon as i hit the brightness jualla it showed up.

The downgrade will hose up some aspects of the idstorage. Which accounts for these bugs. i belive people are trying to figure it all out.
