So I bought black ops on D2D, I assume I use their download system to pre load the game and then when the game comes out you can get the code from them and add it to steam? Also, when you add it to steam will you be able to use steam to download the game again if you needed to download it another time/install it into the main folder where steam installs all its stuff?

Yeah when you add the key to Steam it'll be just as if you had bought it on the steam store, it'll show up on your library and you can download it whenever you want.
 
Would anyone happen to know what time you can activate it and what not? Would it be at 12:00 or would you need to wait until some time during the day?

The preload page says keys will be given out at 7AM PST. I assume that coincides as to when it'll unlock on Steam.

Please return to this keypage on Tuesday, November 9th, 2010 at 7AM PST to receive your activation key.

Anybody wanna explain the currency system to me? Like do you get currency points in regular matches or only wager matches?
 
Well, I just got a copyright strike on my second channel for that Dead Ops gameplay I uploaded...
And yet I swear they're not taking down ANY other Black Ops videos anymore... Perhaps it's "too secret" to be shown yet.

You get currency points in every game mode.

At the end of a game you get a XP match bonus and some CoD points. You can then use these cod points to buy weapons you unlocked, to unlock perks, to buy attachments, etc.
Some of the stuff you buy with cod points also has a level requirement before you can buy it.
 
Jesus christ you're able to download at fucking 10mb/s? I dream of one day being able to have a connection like that.
 
I've heard that the unlimited care package glitch still exists? After throwing your cp flare you throw a grenade/smoke.
 
Very much doubt that, tonights the night though can't wait, get a kebab and black ops, CPU has gone bust though so I won't be able to play until tomorrow night.

This is going to be my one and only statement on this topic, so pay attention.

I got Twitbombed today from dozens of people the same 2 links. Some are people using old dashboards or old versions of the game. Others are claiming victory on old dev builds that don't even connect to the version of Xbox Live that you use. Others are reproducible issues that we will hotfix or patch just like we said we would. In essence, we likely know more about it than you do from watching a video on Vimeo or YouTube.

What many of these people want is to be Internet nerd famous. I'm not going to make them famous and you shouldn't either. Internet hysteria from normal people is exactly what they want and that's how many people reacted today. You gave them exactly what they want.

Given the opportunity, I'd personally wield the ban hammer for anyone who thinks he is clever by abusing any glitches. Good think I don't have the opportunity that often and we actually have a constructive, measured, and well-managed live ops team.

We said we would support the game. We are going to support it.

I've gone out of my way using my own limited, personal time to try and get to know about 8000 (and growing) as best I can. The last thing I want is for you to think that because I don't talk about it ... that we don't know or care about it. We didn't spend 2 years of our lives to toss it all in the trash in one day.

I thank all of you who sent in polite, constructive messages without the hysterics.

So here is my one and only public statement about it.*

I'm not going to talk about it publicly. We are disinterested in making mini-celebrities out of douche-bags. You better think twice before you glitch. You never know who in your game doesn't like glitchers who reports you and saves the game in their File Share and tells us about it.

Our forum admins and VIPs along with JD_2020 (Community Manager) will be managing the communication directly.

Yeah the game has been hacked since it got leaked to jtag users. The care package glitch was recently found though. But they got modded lobbies, and prestige hacks made.
 
I always thought the hacks for consoles were xp hacks or their modded game modes and shit, I never thought there were actual aimbots and what not on consoles.

I can't wait for this game to come out, really bummed that I can't just play it at 12 tonight but I'll be rushing home from class to make sure I can play asap cause I'm a loser.
 
I've got my last two softball games of the Fall season tomorrow night, I won't be playing this until late. I'll probably just jump into MP.

Both. XP hacks which you can prestige after 1 match. Then you get the other good stuff like see through walls, aimbots, etc
To do this on an xbox you need a jtag xbox which are slowly becoming less popular.
 
Can't really stop the XP hacks since they're coming from JTAG users. Let's just hope they're less popular this time around and they just stick to their private lobbies.

Think I'll be playing single player first tomorrow afternoon (classes during the day) and then hop onto multiplayer later at night
