Diablo 3 question

So, I just got Diablo 3 for the Switch and I was in the middle of a timed crumbling chamber event in the second act when I was kicked back to the main title screen. Not only that but my blacksmith was at level 6 (or there abouts) and now he’s back down to level 1. What the hell happened? Also, i started my first character as a seasonal one and now it’s not. Is that normal?
