Crytek's highly anticipated CryEngine 3-powered shooter Crysis 2 is no longer a release candidate for this year, as EA has bumped the title into its fiscal 2011 calendar year, according to a just-released investor earnings report.

The sci-fi shooter, which*thrusts*players into an alien-infested New York on the brink of chaos, was originally slated for a "holiday" release on Xbox 360, PS3, PC[...]

Can you say "grrr"? This somewhat pisses me off, but with Halo: Reach coming out as well this fall I'll be set for a while. This will also give me more time to upgrade my GPU if I work enough during the winter.

Better late than never, also better late than rushed out and patched to fuck after release.

Agreed.

I remember N64 games getting delayed a LOT.

When they eventually did come out, they were awesome.

So if it takes a bit more time to make it better then I'm all for it.

Yeah, I was really looking forward to this one. Not many big-hitters coming out on the PC this fall.. only Fallout: New Vegas comes to mind. I'm not too upset about it, though, StarCraft II should keep me busy. Not to mention the backlog of games I still have yet to finish thanks to Valve's Steam sale.

I've always been pro delay.

Except for Half-Life 2: Episode 3. Seriously Valve, this is just getting ridiculous.

Episode 2 came out more than TWO AND A HALF FUCKING YEARS AGO!

I'm starting to think It's never coming.

I heard that for every fat joke about Gabe, EP3 is delayed by ten minutes....so it'll be a lot further away than 2012 until we get it :p

Honestly though, I think EP3 has been Valve's biggest screwup yet. Episodic content was meant to herald an era of quicker game development and cheaper games

Which is why episode three should be 10-12 hours.

And that point, they should just name it Half-Life 3.

I'd prefer a good game out of the box, not this whole, "screw it, we'll fix it later" attitude.

But yeah, apparently he's lost quite a bit of weight. That's how long it's been since Episode 2.
