This guide will take you through the steps needed to create a perfect Pandora's battery, for both the PSP Classic and PSP Slim
Below you will find 2 guides, one for the Slim and one for the Classic

Which Guide Shall I Use?

  • Install Pandora GUI.
  • Start Pandora GUI.
  • Either download the 1.50 Update file from above, or use the built in feature found in Pandora GUI under '1.50 Sony eBoot'.
  • If you downloaded the above eboot, then extract it and place it on your desktop.
  • Select the button 'Load Local File' in Pandora GUI, and select the extracted eboot found on your desktop.
  • Plug your PSP in via USB to your PC.
  • On the drop down menu, select your PSP's drive letter (for example, J).
  • If on a custom firmware, under 'PSP Location' on Pandora GUI, select PSP/GAME150. If on a homebrew enabled firmware (i.e.: 1.50) use PSP/GAME.
  • Make sure you have backed all data you intend on re-using, like savedata and music.

If you don't have a spare battery, then use your AC Adpater to power your PSP for now.
  • Extract the RAR you downloaded to your desktop.
  • Inside the newly extracted folder, run the program 'install_psp_ms_multi_loa der_ipl.cmd'.
  • Plug the PSP in via USB to your PC, and toggle on USB.
  • The installer will auto-detect your PSP.
  • Press 'y' to accept the question "Are You Sure ?[Y]" message to install the IPL".
  • Remove your PSP from USB, and take out your memor stick.
  • Turn USB back on, with the memory stick inserted.
  • Create a new folder in the root of your memory stick named 'ipl'.
  • Copy the file named msipl.bin from the root of your memory stick, to the folder you have just created ('ipl').
  • Rename the newly copied 'msipl.bin' to '150ex.bin'.

FAQ
When booting your PSP, you have 3 options:[/B]

Hold the L button to boot into the Pandora Menu.
Hold R to boot into Recovery.
Do not hold anything to boot normally.

Why does my PSP restart after turning on from stand-by mode?

You must hold the L button, or your PSP restart instead of turning on from where you left of.

Do I have to install the MaxSafe an/or Pandora Extended Menu?

No, you may skip the installation of both. I don't reccomend you installing the Multi-IPL-Loader either if you do not intend to install these.

Slim PSP
What will I need?
First we need to go over what you need to create a Pandora's battery:
  • A PSP Slim or Classic with a custom firmware [Classic PSP can also be on 1.50 official].
  • A PSP Classic or Slim battery you are willing to convert.
  • Don't worry, you will be able to use it as a normal battery when we are finished.

Part 1
Creating a Pandora's Battery
  • Download the Pandora 3.XX installer, and extract to your desktop.
  • Place the folder named pan3xx in 'X:/PSP/GAME/'.
  • Extract the 1.50 Update file to the root of your memory stick, and rename it to 'UPDATE.PBP'.
  • Backup any data you want to keep, such as savedata, then format your memory stick.
  • Navigate to GAME > Memory Stick in the PSP's XMB, and run the application.
  • Choose the following option:
    • Press R + X.
    • Then press R + L + X.
  • Restart the PSP, and copy the folder 'pan3xx' to 'X:/PSP/GAME/'.
  • Place the 1.50 Update file to the root of your memory stick again, and rename it to 'UPDATE.PBP'
  • Start the application from GAME > Memory Stick.
  • Choose the following option:
    • Press X.
    • When copying is complete, press L + X.
  • Restart the application once more.
  • Choose the following option:
    • Press O.
    • Then press Triangle.
  • You have finished Step 1!

Part 2
Install Ultimate Loader
  • Make sure to back up any data that you want to keep, ie Savedata.
  • Extract the Ultimate Loader RAR.
  • Copy the two files named 'menuloader.prx' and 'mainmenu.elf' to the folder named 'kd' found in the root of your memory stick.
  • Extract the Slim352---pspbtcnf RAR.
  • Rename the 'Slim352---pspbtcnf.txt' to 'pspbtcnf.txt'.
  • Copy the newly renamed 'pspbtcnf.txt' to the folder named 'kd' on the root of your memory stick.
  • In the root of your memory stick, you will find both the 'kd' and 'registry' folders.
  • Create duplicates of both folders.
  • Rename the duplicates like so:
    • 'kd' -> 'kd352'
    • 'registry' -> 'registry352'
  • Copy the newly named folders to your root.
  • Disconnect your PSP from the USB.
  • You have finished step 2!

Part 3
Installing Despertar Cementerio v4
  • BEFORE PROCEEDING, MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE THESE FOLDERS ON THE ROOT OF YOUR MEMORY STICK:
    • 'kd'
    • 'kd352'
    • 'registry'
    • 'registry352'
  • I cannot stress how important it is to have the above folder in the root of your memory stick (ie 'X:/').
  • Extract the RAR files to your desktop.
  • Copy despertar_cementerio to 'X:/PSP/GAME/'.
  • Rename the Eboots:
    • 1.50 eboot.pbp -> 150.PBP
    • 3.40 eboot.pbp -> 340.PBP
    • 3.71 eboot.pbp -> 380.PBP
  • Copy them to the root of your memory stick.
  • If you have any PTF themes enabled, disable them:
    • Go to Settings on your XMB (Main Menu).
    • Go to Theme Settings -> Theme -> Custom Theme -> Delete.
  • Make sure your kernel is set to 2.XX/3.XX:
    • Hold R on coldboot of PSP.
    • Go to Configuration.
    • Change Homebrew Kernel Loading to what ever your firmware version is (i.e. If you firmware is 3.60M33, chane the kernel to 3.60).
  • Run the application from GAME > Memory Stick.
  • You have finished step 3!

Part 4
Installing Ultimate Loader
  • Extract the RAR named '371---PSPBTCNF.rar'.
  • Rename the file enclosed from '371---PSPBTCNF.txt' to 'PSPBTCNF.txt'.
  • Copy the newly named 'PSPBTCNF.txt' to the 'kd' folder found on the root of your memory stick.
  • You have finished step 4!

FAQ
How do I boot into the Ultimate Loader Menu?
By holding L on coldboot.
How do I switch active folders (kd352, kd, etc.)?
Press R or L trigger in Ultimate Loader to switch active folders without launching Pandora or Extended Boot Menu.

Removing the installation of Pandora
If you feel the urge to, or simply want to remove Pandora from your memory stick, do the following:
  • Load the Pandora 3.XX application on your PSP, from GAME > Memory Stick under the XMB (Main Menu).
    • If you do not have the application on your memory stick, download it from here. After extraction, place the folder named 'pan3xx', in 'X:/PSP/GAME/'.
  • Select the option that says 'Restore Battery', or something similar.
  • Once finished, exit the application and turn on USB mode.
  • Format your memory stick. Remember to back up any data you wish to keep (ie Savedate).
  • After format is complete, restart your PSP.
  • Your PSP is now un-pandorized!

Moving this to General, as you copied this guide from another site. Not to mention there already is a guide on creating PAndora here and it works on both PSPs without the need of following separate instructions.

Please only submit original guides to the FAQ forum.

Sorry, I did see it but I though this would also be relevant as it helps with the installation of many extra features that can be used with the base of a Pandora's battery.
As for the copying, I didn't. I wrote this guide.

Ok sorry I didn't see the credit note at the QJ thread. I'll move this back to the FAQ forum then.
