Anyone know and can explain exactly how to play PicrossDS?

Going from the built-in tutorial...I find myself having to guess quite often and have not been able to complete even one puzzle without going over time.
 
Think of it as crossword puzzle and sudoku mixed in with ..It a real thinking game..WIth a time limt..

It better if you use youtube for this kind of thing..IT kinda hard to type it..

I myself spent days of my life playing this game... SO much that I broke 2 stylist.
 
This game is so much fun once you get the hang of it.
