M3 DS Real Killed my DS?

I just bought a m3 ds real and installed the software onto the microsd. Then I tried running the m3. However my ds would not turn on. Now when i try to turn on my nds (with or w/out the m3 ds real) it won't turn on.
Also when I plug my ds into the charger, the orange light turns on for a second and then it just turns off. Before I bought this m3, I had an r4 and it worked fine.
I speculate that my battery is defective and this is just a mere coincidence. Does anybody know what is wrong?

Try removing your battery, hook up the charger(With the battery still removed), and tell me what happens
