damn, both of them sound like pretty cool features to be removing.
The companion pet was apparently relatively small (a rabbit, snake, etc.) and was very limited in functionality but at the same time it took away from ome of the classic D2 mechanics. I don't think I would necessarily miss these if I was in the beta although can't say...still can't access
