I am helping a relative choose a laptop, but i'm not sure which one to get.

They both are $450, have 2gb of RAM, and have a 160gb hdd(5400RPM).

One is an HP Compaq with:

Intel x4500mhd

Intel Celeron Processor 575
2.00 GHz, 667MHz FSB, 1MB Cache

15.4" screen (1280x800)

Vista Home Basic

The other is an Acer Extensa with:

Ati x1250

AMD Athlon

I'm not dead
Acer have shit customer service. The screen on my mums laptop died 13 months after we got it. Customer services told her to just buy a new laptop. So we did, but not an Acer.

After spending hours looking for reviews, they are going to buy the Compaq with the x4500mhd. I was kind of scared because they said the drivers were lacking, but even still, the igp still is better than a lot of budget laptop cards and kills the x3100.

lol, it can even play 1080p movies, too bad there's no blu ray drive.

yeah, while I was searching for reviews on the Acer, I read about the horrors of their customer service.
