Sony has always been a staunch supporter of its 10-year platform lifecycle, and the PSP is no exception. SCE worldwide studios exec Shuhei Yoshida has told Edge Magazine that the holiday 2011 arrival of NGP will not signal the PSP's demise.

"[NGP] can't replace a platform that has already been on sale for seven years now. In terms of pricing, we can't sell the NGP for the same price as a PSP[...]

Makes sense when you look at how PS2's are still selling (somehow) when the PS3 has been out for quite a while.

The same that happened with the PS2 won't happen with the PSP... The PS2 still sells because it's got an awesome software lineup and is without a doubt, a legendary system.

Agreed. It was a nice piece of hardware but it was too expensive and Sony didn't supposrt digital correctly.
