Nintendo has been busy with the Zelda series as of late. In addition to The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, the company is also prepping for the release of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD. It turns out this remake came to be as part of an experiment — an experiment that also included HD versions of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.
"When we were thinking about the new Zelda for Wii U, which is something we're actually working on, we needed to experiment with a variety of graphic styles and it was part of that process we took some existing Zelda games and made them HD just to see what would happen," explained series producer Eiji Aonuma in an interview with Polygon.
