All the hubbub surrounding PS4 doesn't mean Sony has stopped churning out system software updates for the PS3. The company announced via Twitter just moments ago that PS3 firmware 4.45 is due out shortly.

It's a little more substantial than the last few updates, too, promising trophy notification options as well as the usual stability improvements.

Good thing I held off on updating :S Lots of people reporting bricks after installation. Sony's already pulled it too. You wouldn't think something like this would happen this late in the PS3's lifecycle.
