PSP CFW upgrade.

Recently purchased a fat psp from mate. Noticed the FW is 3.90 m33-3.

Can this be upgraded to 5.00 m33-6 safely. Also read about Prometheus. Does this get installed over 5.00?

Also, are these the newest CFWs available? I found a installation guide on here that requires you to dl a file, 500.phb and a folder, 500m33_6 and use these to update.

Bit new to the PSP scene but found you lot when I googled the FW.

Yep, its safe to upgrade straight to 5.00m33 :)

The lastest cfw is 5.50gen i believe :)

You have quite a few options. I would recommend upgrading to 5.00M33 and then to 5.00M33-6. Of course this isn't the newest firmware, but is the latest of the M33 firmwares.

The newest ones would be 5.50GEN and its updates. This only has a few new different features as opposed as 5.00M33 but both can do the same in some sense :)
