Series 60 320x240 Theme FAIL

After going through literally hundreds of 320x240 S60 themes I managed to find only ONE theme that was actually perfect without any screw ups. Its called Black&Red FYI.

Literally EVERY single theme has some fuck up or the other. They're either just plain SHIT, have unnatural colours, have missing icons (built in phone icons!!!), don't align properly in all menus, cool looking but you'd never be caught with it on your phone, pansy or obscene.

The default themes are the BEST.

It's like this with most phones, and themeing in general. On my Blackberry there are only around three good themes. The rest are broken, or basically porn.

Its just that I've been jealous of everyone's theme capable phones since I got my first S60 phone (N-Gage QD). It was Symbian OS 6.1 and didn't support themes while all the other phones had Symbian OS 7 which had theme support. My friends used to keep coming over to download themes for their phones and I remember lots of awesome looking ones.

Now when I finally got an E63 this is what happens lol...

Just some dood
Thankfully I have an (old) Qtek S100 (Windows Mobile 6.1 :p) and themes for that are universal...

I understand your pain though, when I had a Nokia 6600 I used to envy people with themes xD

I remember using themes on my old taco N-gage :\

Granted, it crashed sometimes when launching games due to ram usage or whatnot but there were 3rd party apps.

My old e65 had a couple of themes too but I generally used one of the nokia ones :\

Both N-Gages were Symbian OS 6.1 phones and didn't support themes. There was a third party app called Wildskinz which lets you apply some crappy looking hacked on themes.

I remember a friend of mine using that, it sucked balls though...

5800 has no good themes either, so I'm stuck with the default. =(

Its a relatively new phone and the resolution is much higher, so people would probably have to make themes from scratch.

Why do you have a BlackBerry too? Unless you have a Microsoft Exchange server that does REAL push e-mail, its a redundant piece of junk.

I have an N95 8gb running S60 3rd FP1, and I have a shit ton of great themes for it. Don't know what you're talking about, maybe you need to find a better site for the DL's.

Got the majority of mine here: Themes - Mobile Phone Applications Mobile Games and Mobile Programs On Dotsis.com

You might need to dig a little, but they're there.

Everyone knows about DotSis... Its like The Pirate Bay of Symbian. Very few of those are 320x240. You're supposed to stick to SVG graphics in the themes so they work on any resolution S60v3 but these guys use bitmaps even for things other than the wallpaper and the themes are not compatible with anything other than the resolution they made them for.

Well sucks to be you then. Bitmap or not they look great on my phone and that's all that really matters to me :) Guess I lucked out on picking a phone with a more frequently used resolution.
