Not surprised by this at all, even without the quake I seriously doubted Sony doing a worldwide simultaneous launch for the NGP.

I'm thinking cheap excuse as well, never seemed like they really believed that they could do this.

I doubt they were really heading for a simultanious global release too.
And they always look for cheap excuses.
