Microsoft and Nintendo both have adopted a system of "points" which you pay money for to buy goods on their online stores. Sony is taking the other route and labeling all items up for sale in their online store in plain dollars and cents.
It's a good move on Sony's part, the point system only confuses buyers into paying less for something when they actually aren't.
