PC StarCraft II Did Not Cost $100 Million To Produce

Earlier last week Wall Street Journal pegged a figure on development expenses for StarCraft II, which reportedly sat at a <a href="http://exophase.com/industry/starcraft-ii-development-budget-eclipses-100-million-17000.htm" target="_blank">lofty $100 million</a>. Turns out, it was an oversight. The publication confused Blizzard's RTS with that of MMO World of Warcraft, according to a list of amended <a rel="nofollow" href="http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748703467304575383443343071562.html?mod=googlenews_wsj" target="_blank">corrections</a>.

So just how much was spent on the StarCraft sequel? Blizzard isn't saying[...]

that's probably the yearly salary for several of the lead programmers at blizzard, starcraft II most likly was in the millions, not 100 million, but at least 10-20 imo

I didnt it would cost a hell of a lotta money to produce it. Then again, if they're trying to come up with a mini WoW then, yeah. I could see it costing in the millions to produce the game.
