Switch & Switch 2 Play Time Tracking After Local Whole System Transfer

Hello!!!

I can't find a consistent answer when researching online and thought I would ask here. Can hat would be the best method to have all of the games I've played on Switch and Switch 2 synced and show on my profile? Should I like, do a sync to get the 20 games listed on thr play activity list currently, and then put in and play briefly any other games I have save data for that is not on the list currently?

And also, idk if you can answer this, but I want to avoid the glitch of having your play activity time either reset or freeze after transfering your data to a new console and then playing a game. Would the best thing to do to not only make sure that the play time data will stay accurate but also get all my Switch & Switch 2 game time data uploaded to my profile here be to alternate things? Meaning, could I do an upload of the 20 games listed right now, then do a user transfer from Switch 1 to Switch 2 (bc my research on trying to fix this issue produced no consensus but people said that doing a user transfer could work) with making sure my cloud save data is the same as what's on the console currently, then, if needed, get the remaining games on the activity list by playing them briefly, then again do a upload to my Exophase profile, and then lastly one more user transfer. Would that work?

Please get back to me as soon as possible!!!! I can't finish my Switch 2 set-up without having an answer and a plan for this transfer and play activity freezing/reseting issue and I'm really scared of doing something wrong and then it breaks :(

Getting all your playtimes uploaded to the site then doing the system transfer is likely the safest way. If the playtime on any games gets reset, it doesn't matter as much as it would already be saved on the site.

But maybe others can chime in on their experiences. I have heard of the playtime getting frozen when moving to a new system - when that happens the value stored on Nintendo's server doesn't update until the playtime increments past the value on the previous device. So if that happens, it is fixable just by leaving a game open until it hits your original playtime value, then it should start counting again.

Yeah. I am aware of that frozen playtime or not counting up glitch that can happen and what the best solution is if they do happen to you. All of those glitches were one of the big things I wanted to make sure I avoided, and as far as I know, I have avoided these playtime glitches and bugs at this point.

Ok, as for what you were saying about the transfer sruff, I did do a full-system transfer a couple of days before you posted this. Sorry.

However, I also asked this same thing in another forum (Famiboards), mainly because they had a way more active thread going on over there about this topic and I was playing the odds that I would be more likely to get an answer sooner posting both here and over there (and to also spread more awareness about this problem).

But anyway, so I ended up getting my answer in the thread over there. They told me that because I did a full-system transfer during the first boot and set up of the Switch 2, that I was safe. So, AS LONG AS I DO NOT GO INTO ANY GAME OR APPLICATION ON THE OG SWITCH AFTER THE TRANSFER, my playtime is perfecrly safe and all I need to do at this point is initialize/factory reset the OG Switch.

Thank you for replying!
