Time Crisis 4 Heading For PS3

Namco Bandai's Time Crisis series is making a return on PS3 in the form of Time Crisis 4, along with a new GUNCON light gun attachment, the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu revealed.

This next-gen incarnation of the arcade on-rails shooter will include an AC mode that is identical to the arcade original, as well as a PS3-exclusive "Mission Mode" featuring Captain William Rush as the main character. The game will also link up to Sony's PlayStation Network, offering online rankings and downloadable Crisis Missions.

Time Crisis 4 is due for a 2007 release in Japan. It has not been announced for a US release yet, but we can only assume that it is coming here given the popularity of past titles in the franchise.

:w00t: That sounds great I was about to ask if you had any news of some new firmware that could make that the PS3 detected the GUNCOM 2 cause I`m a fan of this kind of games in fact I have all of the PS2 and when I tried them the GUNCOM is not detected, but now the question is if with this new GUNCOM we`ll be able to play PS2 shoter games, any news will be appreciated

Hmm, yeah... probably because the older light guns are not compatible with HDTVs. So I don't think Sony would add support for them.

As for the new GUNCON... I don't know if it will be compatible with PS2 games. Likely it will be, but I'll see if I can get an answer from Namco. :smile:

Ah, bad news, here's what they said:

Thank you for contacting Namco Bandai's Customer Support Department.

Unfortunately it appears the the Guncon3 will not be compatible with
games that used the Guncon1 or the Guncon2.

the Guncon 2 does work on the PS3 you just need to put in the Game that requires it Reguardless if the PS3 doesn't detect it properly.

I play TC2 & 3 everynow and then on my PS3,

Oh! but do you use a normal tv or a hdtv anyway I`ll try on mine and let you know what I find out, thanks to both of you, I guess that if I can`t use them I`ll have to buy a PS2 cause once I tried but don`t remember which game I used, when the screen where you caliber your guncom appeared I could not get out of that screen so it`s a real pity cause the shooter games are one of my favorite ones :crying:
 
the Guncom 1 & 2 only works on Normal TV's so inorder for one to play the old Time Crisis Games you'd need a spare old Tube TV.

Time Crisis 4's Guncon3 works on all TV sets, like how the Wii mote works, i believe.
