I noticed that some games have achievements where after obtaining them, they do not add to my achievement total on my profile. Does anyone understand why this sometimes happens?

Steam recently changed the default privacy settings for all users. This may impact tracking. Ensure your profile has the correct settings by following the guide on our forums.

The achievement totals are updated after a profile scan completes, other stats like the EXP total - are only updated once a day.
I haven't noticed the total not reflecting current unlocks, but because it only updates after the scan is fully complete there can be a brief delay.
