Seems like some really cool tech, I have no idea how old this tech demo is but it looks pretty promising

Basically, it's a scam. Think about it "UNLIMITED DETAIL" really isn't possible since your computer doesn't have "UNLIMITED SPACE". The reason their demo works is because it is so repetitive and they haven't showed any animations.

Well that sucks :( that for the head up guys. Also 512 petabytes is a insane amount of data I dont think well have that for a real long time.

By our current rate of storage increments, we should be seeing petabyte hdd being introduced by ~2020, and 512PB probably around ~2027, which is probably a more conservative view.
