The article does not mention the Euro, it's about the British Pound. In addition, both the Euro and Pound are worth more than the Dollar.

Both of the above, and the rate you quoted, both signify that $100 would translate into $72 GPB and $78 EUR, respectively.

I bet most retailers will ignore it. Just like most retailers have already started cutting the PS3 price because Sony wont drop it. Retailers make less money this way but at least they move the stock.
