I was downloading a 5 part ISO yesterday, had it on most of the day, and my downloads just died with a couple hours left and it gave me some bullshit error about 2.66GB a day. It's 80GB a month, which works out to 2.66GB a day.
I can download more than 2.66GB a day no problem, and I only have the regular package.
The reason people still use Rapidshare is because the majority of uploaders still use rapidshare. And it's a hell of a lot faster than any other http service I've used.I fail to understand why anyone still uses rapidshare, compared to megaupload and some of the lesser known upload sites its pure crap.
for christ sakes, you get almost as much daily limit with a megauploade FREE account.l

it isn't for me.
seeing as i refuse to pay money to download anything i get capped at 50kbps, where as i get over 100 with no megaupload account, and more than that with the free one.
and that was my point, i don't understand why the uploaders still use it.
honestly though, i'm rather unconcerned as i prefer torrenting to begin with.
Torrenting makes so much more sense.
Is that at home or college because at college I'd expect you to get much faster.Rapidshare gets a steady 150kbp/s for me most of the time, and when you get a program like RapGet and a premium account you can download up to 6 (6 is the number I use) files at the same time, makes things go by MUCH faster than torrents or other sites. My premium expired over at Rapidshare and I'm already feeling the pain!
People also use rapidshare because of the point/reward system for uploading (although Megaupload also has that in a way). I believe Megaupload is faster but the majority of uploaders use Rapidshare and I see no reason not to - it's reliable, fast and easy to use
Yeah, I've pretty much ditched using warez completely now... once you don't have a premium account to any of the largely used uploading sites then there is no point.
So you'd rather pay Full price for one CD (approx 150MB once ripped) than half of that price for 80GBs of music or whatever else you want to download.isn't the whole point of downloading files to avoid paying for them. i'd rather buy a cd then pay rapidshare to download it. i don't care if its cheaper, its a matter of principle.
its called piracy for a reason.
That's a pretty stupid question. The answer is as fast as possible, obviously. If speed wasn't an issue then we'd all still be on dial up.regarding the faster than torrenting issue, how fast do you really need the files?
my point exactly,
almost anything that you can find on rapidshare can be found in a torrent, the only thing that really can't is the illicit porn that is traded on rapidshare. but you shouldn't be downloading that anyway.

god damnit, I wish I woulda known the policy change before I purchased an account. I could be playing RE5 instead of waiting for my quota to build up.twelve said:Traffic left: 12 000 MB (+24 GB)
Let your allowance build up for a few days. I do my downloads in big blocks and then leave it to build up again.
No offense dude, but you're acting like a child about this. You're complaining that it's taking too long for you to pirate a game. Just suck it up or go out and buy it tomorrow.
