Rumor: PS3 Firmware 2.0 Next Week

According to Kotaku's anonymous UK source, PlayStation 3 firmware 2.0 will hit Tuesday, October 30. Notable inclusions in this rumored update include XMB customization, the ability to turn the PS3 off via Remote Play on the PSP, and music and photo playlists.

XMB customization (Custom theme & background color setting): This will come with one alternative custom theme. Addition generic themes will be available for download via www.playstation.com with game title themes to follow on Nov 20th, distributed via the Store (PS/PC). The cost of the game themes haven't been decided yet. Guidelines for users to create their own Custom Themes will be distributed via www.playstation.com shortly after the firmware hits.
Information Board: This will be shown in the top right of the screen and include news feeds from Playstation.com as well as store updates. The board came be set to ticker mode, list mode, details mode or disabled.
Trend Micro Web Security for PS3™ internet browser: This is a parental lock for website viewing that will initially be free but that Trend Micro will later charge for.[/blockquote2]
Decent update, but seems less than what we were expecting for 2.0. In-game XMB anyone? That being said, take this info with a grain of salt.

can I state that this is fake, because on the offical PS3 US site it states that 1.94 is comming out on the 31st.

And why does 2.0 not mention the ever so rumored In game Music access through the XMB. Nor does it mention the Dualshock 3 Setting if they were to skip the release of 1.94, it just doesn't make sence. Oh well it's from an "anonamous source" anyways. Maybe they'll tell us home is comming THIS YEAR rather then next year. Since the supposed 2.0 firmware is ment to be released at around the time @HOME comes out.

Sony have been known to skip the odd update in the past it might just be they have brought 2.00 forward due to glitches found in 1.94, I guess only way we can really tell is wait til tuesday.
