In celebration of the upcoming Fourth of July weekend, Activision today announced that the guitar-heavy classic "Top Gun Anthem," will be released on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live beginning this Thursday.

Featured in the hit film Top Gun, the track will be offered up to all Guitar Hero III owners gratis.

They shoulda done danger zone... I gave the anthem a listen, and there would be nothing remotely fun about playing it, it's slow and repetitive.
