Square Enix has released a trailer of Neverland Company's Estpolis, a remake of SNES RPG classic Lufia II. For fans, the music will most definitely sound familiar, but the visuals enter uncharted territory. Featuring completely redone 3D visuals, this clip also highlights the Kingdom Hearts-esque battle system, forgoing the turn-based combat sequences that many of us fondly remember in the original.

It doesn't look half bad, actually, but at the same time doesn't exactly remind us of Lufia. You be the judge.

They've given Maxim a complete Squall-like makeover.
Also, looks like they'll be bringing it out in the US and EU under the original Japanese name of Estpolis which may be a problem considering that fans may not recognise it as being linked to Lufia II.

Considering how Lufia II was a prequel to the original, I can see Neverland using this as a reboot of the series and a chance to rearrange the timeline.

I'm highly disappointed in this. Though it's a cool concept, I would have preferred a remake ala FF3 and FF4 then this.

I'll probably like it, just /not as much/.
